Terms of Service
Effective date: August 2026 · Please read these terms before using Ollie.
1. What Ollie is
Ollie is an AI-powered tutoring aid that helps students work through their own schoolwork by asking guiding questions — it is designed to never simply give the answer. Ollie is a learning support tool, not a substitute for a teacher, a medical or mental-health professional, or a caregiver's supervision.
2. Accounts
A parent or guardian creates and owns the family account and is responsible for activity under it. Children do not have their own accounts, passwords, or email addresses; a child uses Ollie through a parent-authorized device or a simple PIN. Teachers create separate accounts using a school email address.
3. Parental consent
By adding a child and completing the consent step, you confirm you are the child's parent or legal guardian and consent to your child's use of Ollie as described in our Privacy Policy. You may withdraw consent at any time.
4. Acceptable use
- Use Ollie for genuine learning and grading support.
- Do not attempt to misuse the tutor to obtain answers dishonestly, to bypass its safety rules, or to submit content that is unlawful or harmful.
- Teachers remain the grader of record; Ollie's grading is an aid that a teacher reviews and confirms.
5. Safety
Ollie includes safeguards that may notify a parent about signs of frustration or concerning content. These are best-effort supports and are not a monitoring, emergency, or crisis service. If a child is in danger, contact local emergency services.
6. Subscriptions & billing
Some features require a paid subscription. Pricing, billing intervals, and any free trial are shown at sign-up. You can cancel from your dashboard; cancellation stops future charges and takes effect at the end of the current period.
7. Your content & data
You retain rights to the information you provide. You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the service. As described in the Privacy Policy, camera and microphone media are never stored. Schools own their classroom data under the applicable data-processing agreement.
8. Service "as is"
Ollie is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. AI can make mistakes; grading and readings should be reviewed. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; we'll post the new effective date and, for material changes, notify account holders. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
